Jack loves stacking blocks

My son loves to stack things and he stacked his blocks 14 high, then he tried to count them all, but he just kept saying 2 over and over.

Then I made a card for an inspiration challenge over in the Card Makin Mamas group on cafemom.  Here is the inspiration picture

and here is what I came up with:

Then I had a babyshower to go to yesterday for my cafemom friend Mandie and I whipped this card up for her.  I just had to use pregga bella.

Crafting wirh Cara

My step Dads sister and her family came into town and his niece Cara is sooo sweet and she scrapbooks.  She wanted to learn how to make cards, so I bought her some things to get her started, only I never dreamed that Jack would let us get any crafting time in, so I didn't bring anything for me to craft with.  So, she let me use some of her new stuff to make some cards too, I let her keep all of the cards that I made to give to her friends.  I didn't have my copics or markers  or brads with me, so here are the 3 simple cards that I made.  Cara made 3 cards to.

Cara is also great with kids, she watched Jack and played with her and he followed her around all day.

Then sadly, we had to go so I could get Jack home by his bedtime.  He didn't want to go so here he is sitting with his Nana, Cara and Caleb, telling them goodbye.  It was a good visit.

Our New Kitchen

My Mom has been after me to post some pics of our new house, since the drywall is up and painted, they started on the floors, and the cabinets are in.  So here are a few pics, the floors aren't finished yet or the island.  The floors are red oak, the cabinets are walnut with black glazing and black hardware.  We bought appliances last night night they are all black.

Celebrating Jason's birthday and a concert in the park

Last Friday we celebrated Jason's birthday, and he wanted me to cook, so I made manicotti, and garlic bread, and had fruit and salad stuff (to make your own), and we had a chocolate silk pie for dessert (he didn't want a birthday cake).  That shows you how often I cook if he wanted me to cook as part of his present.  haha.

Here is the simple but manly card that I made for his birthday:

Then I took Jack to the concert in the park and Jason played games with his friends.  Jack got to play with Ezra and Gracie at the park, and I got to chat with their parents.

I took a picture of myself  at the park to model my new earings I got at my favorite consignment shop, Beverly Hills Bargain Boutique.  I got these earrings for a dollar and they go great with my new top from K-mart. Yay, I love a bargain, and I am wearing my $3.00 sunglasses on sale at NY and company.

Here is Jack eating chips at the park that Gracie gave him, he looooves chips.

Crafty at the CCC

The cute critter club over on cafemom has 2 challenges this week

The first challenge is a color challenge and the colors are blue, green and orange.  This is what I came up with, I made this card from a scrapbook kit that I think I got at Tuesday Morning for $2.00

This card is for a sketch challenge over in the CCC too:

this is the inside of the card

I recieved this dollar stamp set a while ago from a swap or a secret sis, I can't remember and I am just now getting around to using it.  All of the papers are from my Martha Stewart Fall paper pack from Walmart.  The little felt flower is from the target dollar bin.

A sketch challenge and a baby card

Over on CMM, it's Christmas in July and this weekend there is a sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch designed by my friend Cass

Here is what I came up with.  I was rak'd this image from my friend Lisa last year and I finally am using it.  I went crazy with the frosted sugar glitter.  I liked the way it turned out.  I ran the maroon colored paper throught the paper crimper.

Here is an up-close pic of all the pretty glittery snow.

This card is for my cafemom friend Krista who just had a baby girl.  This card is pretty simple but I looove all the papers.

More Christmas cards

Well it has been Christmas in July over on Card Makin Mamas and I am getting a head start on my Christmas cards, which is good cause I need to start Jack's birthday invites soon, and that won't leave much time for Christmas cards.  The fist one is a card inspiration challenge.

Here is the picture we were supposed to get inspired by:

and this is what I came up with, I was rak'd this adorable image last year and colored it with my BIC markers, skin color copic and red stickles.  I was rak'd the papers too.

Then over in the CCC they had a challenge to alter a coffee filter with re-inkers and use it on your card, I didn't have any re-inkers so I used food coloring, I tried to make a tie-dyded looking one with blue, gree and a hint of red, but it just came out red and green so I thought I'd better make another Christmas card.  I was rak'd this image as well and used my BICs and glitter pens.

Hot Rod's Baseball Game

Saturday was Jack's first baseball game.  We went there to watch his Aunt Cathy dance before the game started.  Jack really enjoyed it and he got a free glow in the dark Hot Rod's baseball.  We left when he got cranky we did't want to stay for the whole thing anyway, but he had lots of fun.  Jack didn't want to sit in our laps, I guess that is cause he is with us all the time.  He went from Aunt Anna and Uncle Doug to Grandma Elaine and Grandpa Jim.

Concert in the park

Every Friday night downtown, they offer a free concert in the park.  We met Jack's cousin Gracie and her momma there, and the kids had a blast.  Jack was skeptical at first, but he eventually started to have fun especially since Melissa and Gracie brought toys with them: a pink football, slinkies, and bubbles.  Gracie even shared her potatoe chips with Jack.  Then the kids invented something new: slinky glasses.

Recycling Rocks!

So, I always reuse gift bags if they are in good condition.  For my birthday, one of the gift bags was soooo cute, but ripped so I knew that I wanted to recycle it somehow, so I cut out the pretty brown and pink flower and used it on these 2 cards.  It is on the inside of the first card.
