some Christmas and Thanksgiving cards and a visit to TN

I have been busy working on the house this week and haven't had too much time to card, but on Tuesday I had a craft day with Cass.  I made 2 cards before I drove to her house, then 2 cards at her house.

So, I got kind of carried away with the stickles and made the black ink bleed, that is why the snow falling has a black tint to it.

Here are the Thanksgiving cards that I made at Cass's house, the first one is for the CCC sketch challenge.

Well, I have to get back to work on the house, maybe I will get another chance to card this week.

Getting in the Christmas mood

I have been trying to get a jump start on my Christmas cards this year, and since I'm off of work I have been trying to make a bunch of cards, but with the house and Jack , I haven't had too much crafting time.  My goal was to make one card a day while I was off, and I have been off for 5 days and have 4 cards made, so I guess I'm not doing too bad.

With this first card, I wanted to challenge myself by picking a color you don't see too often on Christmas cards, so I picked yellow, not gold, but yellow.  I was going through my papers that people have rak'd me and I found this perfect paper.  I don't think it turned out too bad.

This next card is for a sketch challenge over on Card Makin Mamas.  I got this image in a Christmas swap last year.

I took an up-close pic of the snowflake so you could see how sparkly it is.

My Happenings last week

Jack wanted to paint the pumpkins we got at Jackson's Orchard.

Then we went to Elaine's to celebrate Alek's birthday.  Jack wanted to open the presents and blow out the candles, so bad, but I kept telling him that he will get to on his birthday in less than 2 months, but of course that is an eternity to a child.

Superman cake

Then I wanted to try this recipe from the Taste of Home magazine, I went to the Taste of Home cooking school and wanted to try these.  They are s'mores muffins, I think it looks like a marshmallow creme volcano, but they were delicious.

Jackson's Orchard

My best friend Jen came up from Nashville and we took Jack to Jackson's Orachard.  We were not there too long, cause it was cold and windy.

we are eating an apple pie with an apple cider slush, yummy

Hayride on a cold chilly day.

I just love this picture, with Jack, the pumpkins and the cloudy sky.  I think these next 2 pics are so beautiful, ya know scenery wise.

Jen and Jack in the bouncy castle

Riding in the wagon with the goods.  He picked out 2 pumpkins, pumpkin butter, pumpkin bread, rocky road fudge and a pumpkin sucker.

Giggling in the car.

Jack is spazzing out cause he really wants his chocolate pumpkin sucker

This weekend flew by

Where did the weekend go?  at least I got the chance to make a couple of cards, barely.  I was going through crafting withdrawls.

This first card is for a sktch challenge in the Card Makin Mama's Group over on cafemom

This next card is for a sketch challenge in the CCC on cafemom.

Both of the images were sent in a cute envelope card package from my friend Carol.

This is Carol's cute envelope card she made

and stuffed it with goodies.

This is the card I made for my card swap partner, Angie

Happy Blogaversary to me !

Today was my one year Blogaversary and I totally forgot about it, but I figured out how to work this whole blog thing with the help of Dee exactly one year ago today.  I am also super shocked that I have had over 1,000 views of my blog.  Probably a lot of the same people viewed the blog over and over just like I have blogs that I like to visit a lot.  I really appreciate everyone who comes to view and comment on my blog.  I wanted to do something special like have some blog candy to give away, but I totally forgot , so maybe next year I will be more prepared.

CCC Halloween Treat Box

This week in the CCC on cafemom we need to make this treat box  by Dawn Griffith with a critter on it.  I ran out of black and orange cardstock, so I had to use white, so they are kind of plain, they are for my nephews.  I used my dollar stamps from Joann's to decorate the boxes.

Doodle Street Blog Challenge

This week on Doodle Street, the challenge is to use blue, green and black on your card and I knew exactly which image I wanted to use, the very pretty doodle street bird.  I have never paper pieced before and my friend Ivy sent me a really nice Halloween themed rak last week and this pretty green paper was in there too. The solid blue paper and the striped green and blue paper was from a rak, but the pretty background paper is from the all dressed up paper pack from DCWV.  Then I used my blue and green catseye chalk inks to color the sky behind the bird, then I just added 3 blue self adhesive gems.

I am also gonna use this card for the CCC challenge, it is to make a card with dots and stripes on it, and to use a critter image.

Can't go to Chaney's without having ice cream.

Just a little swinging before we go.

Doodle Street Blog Sketch

This card is for the Doodle Street Blog Sketch Challenge.  I think this is image is called Myrtle the Turtle, it is from Doodle Street  and I just thought it would look cute with pink and green.  All of these papers were rak'd, I used a Bic , a prismamarker, and a copic to color this image.  I just loved this sketch by Cassandra, she is so talented.

Angie's Craft Blog sketch #2

This card is for Angie's Craft Blog.  This is for sketch #2.  This sketch just yelled at me to be in black and white, and I thought about this sentiment from paper makeup stamps.
