Robot party invites

I paper pieced a robot on the front of the card, pretty simple, I made 20 of each piece, so assembly would be easier.  I finally got to use my paper crimper, I don't use it often.  To make the hands, feet and mouth, I just used my different sized circle punches and then cut the circles in half.  I wanted to make some sort of antenna on top of his head, but never got around to it.
The inside of the card with my personal info covered up.
More pictures to come this week of the party and my attempt at making a robot cake.

Snuck in some crafting time

I did make 1 card in the month of September, just didn't think it was cute enough to take a picture of, still sticking to my New Years resolution, just 2 more months to go and this will be the first time I have ever stuck to one.  I made 2 cards and a shadow box frame this week.  A family member is having a boy and the stuff that she registered for, which I love , by the way, is forest animals (owls, birds, deer, bear).
This first card, is just a little card to go in the bag with the shadow box, I actually cut this owl off of the baby shower invite.
This is the shadow box frame I made.  I want to add the baby's name on the open tree section, but they don't have a name picked out yet, that I know of.
This is the card I made for the other presents, outside is really simple.
The inside of the card.
I love owls, and I think the nature theme makes a very cute nursery.
This is all I have for now, I hope to scrapbook soon too.

just a simple card

Even though I didn't post any pictures of the cards I made in July (cause as soon as I made them I sent them off in birthday packages), I am still sticking with my New Years resolution and making time to craft at least once a month.
This is a simple card I made for a little girl's Mickey Mouse birthday party.  Jack told me where to put everything, so I made it according to his instructions.

One Year Weight Loss Anniversary!

So, it was a year ago today that I decided to do something about my weight, so I started working out every day or mostly every day and doing portion control.  If the portion size was half a cup of ice cream, then I would measure it out.  So a year later and I have lost a total of 73 pounds.  I am still currently losing weight, it has just slowed down a lot.  I lose like a half a pound a month now, but I will take it.  I am going to share some pictures at different intervals throughout the weight loss.  I am 5 foot 6 and a half inches tall, I started out weighing 220 pounds and I currently weigh 147 pounds.

And now the bikini shot, now I don't normally where a bikini, unless I am at a beach where I don't know anybody or at a friends house, but Jason loved it. I still have a lot of toning to do, and everything doesn't just bounce right back after having a child, but I am proud of my body now.

It's Been A While

So, it has been a long time since I posted, but not since I crafted, I am sticking to my New Year's resolution and have made at least one card a month.  This post will contain all of my June cards. I got the chance to craft with Cass, she gave me a card kit for my birthday and I made a bunch of cards from the kit and used her cuuuute stamp set that she brought with her.

A card I made for a friend that lost both her parents.
The next cards are cards I made from the card kit Cass got me for my birthday.

The next 2 cards are what I made with this cuuute stamp set that Cass had brought, she received it from a sweet crafting friend.
I made the background with the fan and flower stamps, then popped up the cute girl image.
My favorite card, I made with paper that Cass had given me and using her stamp set, in fact I don't think I even used any of my stuff this day, everything was either Cassie's, or given to me by her. LOL
I used the cute sushi image to make the background.
I had a great craft day, and I have stuck to my resolution, just posted a little late.  Have a great July 4th, everyone, gonna go lay out, so I don't fry when I am in Florida.

recycling and restyling

I made this card that turned out, I think, really pretty for my Mom for Mother's Day from a piece of cardboard from a toy box from one of Jack's toys, a blank inside card from the dollar bin at Target, A heart doily (leftover from Valentine's Day crafts - I cut it in half and sprayed it with glimmer mist), the pearls were also from the Target dollar bin. The butterfly was a rak'd image.

10 minutes

I made a quick 10 minute card today for a birthday party we went to.  I made the card with the color challenge from hello cutie challenges blog.
these are the colors I was supposed to use.
and this is the card I made with them.  You can't really tell but the edge of the white paper is edged in gray ink, and I used my gray glitter pen to add some sparkle to the embossed flowers, I used white core paper for the embossed paper and then sanded the raised areas so you could see the white beneath.

Spring Weather makes me wanna craft in bright spring colors

I had a few days off last week so I had some time to craft a little, in between, working out, cleaning the house and taking Jack to do tons of fun stuff.  I kept my card pretty simple.  I had to make a bridal shower card for our friends Roger and Kayti who are getting married soon.  The big pear, the little background pears and the sentiment "The Perfect Pear" were a dollar set in the dollar bin stamps at JoAnns Fabrics.  I heat embossed the sentiment and the big pear.  I made a few more cards for a lady at work celebrating her birthday.  More photos to come.

Hello Cutie

My friend Lizzy started a challenge blog called Hello Cutie Challenges, this is her second challenge and it is a photo challenge. You have to take inspiration from the photo and create a card.  Here is the photo.
and here is my card, I used the brown and white pattern on the vase , the white ridges of the wall and the yellow flowers for inspiration, then I covered it all with glimmer mist.

Animal Challenge

In the Card Makin Mamas challenge blog, the card theme was animals and I had this cute image from papermom.com . I had a birthday party to go to today and the theme was T-rex, so this card came together pretty easily after I had picked the animal.

color challenge

One of my crafting buddies  Lizzie has launched her own challenge blog, it is the hello cutie challenges blog and for the first challenge it is a color challenge, I made this simple little 3x3 card for a boys birthday coming up. I stuck to most of the main colors. the pink is in the striped paper and I didn't have any beige so I used brown and I added some yellow and orange.

Something Green

I made this card for the Something Green challenge for the Card Makin Mamas challenge blog, this week their sponsor is Some Odd Girl.  I kept the card pretty simple all 3 papers were from my scrap stack or given to me by my sweet friend Cass.  I used a glitter gel pen to add a little sparkle.  I waited until today to post it in honor of St. Patty's Day.

What I have been up to

I made some cards for a co-worker's birthday, this was one quick card I came up with, I used my new stamp from Hobby Lobby.

This is the inside of the card.

a simple card for a card makin friend who had a baby.
This next simple card is for a birthday party we went to, a little girl in Jack's class who loves rock music turned 5, I just had to make her a little rock card.
We have been super busy lately, several school activities and birthdays to go to.  We just took Jack to his first Lowe's kids workshop, he had a blast at first, but then the noise of all the little hammers got to him, and he started crying.
