Jack at Nana's, Me at Cassandra's and a Dance Recital

This past weekend was super busy.  Jack spent the weekend at Nana's house (my Mom) and they played outside the whole time.  There are a lot of cute pictures of Jack playing on a horsie, with their dog Lady, discovering worms, and he really loves this plywood bridge (he is even mowing it).

I drove down to TN to visit my cafemom friend Cassandra, we looked at each others stamps and made us some images, then we only made 2 cards each and I was there for 6 hours.  But we made progress, the last time I was there she stamped and I just took pictures of the 2 boys playing on the horsie.  I had 2 card kits that I had to make cards with.  The froggy ketto card was from Carol and the sweetybellas card was from johnsbabygirl.  She sent some pretty butterfly paper, but I couldn't make it work with the image so I cut out a butterfly, blinged it out with stickles and popped it up.

Then on Sunday I got to attend a dance recital.  My SIL danced with her group the BG Rockerz and My hubby's cousin's daughter, which I think would be Jack's 3rd cousin Holly danced in several dances and she is amazing.

This week has flown by

Well last weekednd just flew by, my soon-to-be sister in law had her bachlorette party, I made 3 cards and my mother-in-law Elaine had a little family get together Sunday ( steak and shrimp yummy), she had some friends visiting from Wisconsin.  I just love family get togethers, you get to catch up and Jack just loves playing with his cousins.  He loves Nathaniel and all but boy does he follow everything that Alek does, it is pretty cute. Thursday night and most of the day Friday I spent making Anna's special shirt that she had to wear at her Bachlorette party.  Then finally when that was finished ( I hope to never see another lifesaver, ever again) I got the chance to make some cards.  The first card was a challenge to make an open swing top card for the addicted 2 bellas group on cafemom, you had to do this technique and of course use a bella.  I used a rak'd image I can't remember her name, but I just love this image.  I needed to make a card for a sweet little girl who is turning 3 next month,  I used the same patterned paper as I used from Gracies room plaque that I made.  I just love the paper it is so girly and tropical.  The next card was for a challenge on the CCC, the challenge was to make a card using a Critter of course but it could not be a stamped critter, and to use some kind of distressing.  So I got out my glittered chipboard critters and found a cute glittered worm and I went fishing through my big box of stamped images from other cardmakers and found this cute buggy sentiment.  I distressed the edges of the paper with different colors of chalk ink.  The last card is for a sketch challenge in the CCC.  I just kept it real simple, cause I needed a manly get well card for the spouse of a co-worker, he is not doing so well.

4 and5 Jack really enjoyed Gracies kitchen that her parents got her for her birthday, he is even playing in it while she is opening presents.

6. Anna is trying to get Jack to look at me with cousin Gracies pretty pink sunglasses on.

7. Gracie is trying on her new princess outfit and butterfly wings

8.Butterfly Princess Gracie

9.Easter egg birthday cake

10.cousin Melissa put this pink hat on my son, but he was so moody that day that he didn't care about the hat, he just wanted to be picked up.  Lately he always wants to be carried or picked up, I hope this blows over soon, I feel like a bad Mommy telling him he is a big boy and big boys can walk by themselves without having to be carried.

Easter at Nana's and a wall hanging

We went to my Mom's (Nana's) yesterday to celebrate Easter at Macon county Bank in LaFayette, for a big candy and egg hunt.  It only lasts about 20 minutes, cause those kids grab candy and eggs fast.  Jack had fun last year I think he was too young, then we went back to Nana's house and Jack played with her dog Lady, and he opened his presents from the Easter Bunny, then we ate this wonderful Bunny cake that Nana made.

Today we are going to easter at Gracie's house, we are also celebrating her birthday today, and this is the room plaque that I made for her.  The plaque is really sparkly, I had this flower (wood) and butterfly (chipboard), but they were not really the right colors that I needed them to be, so I got out my trusty stickles (glitter glue) and covered up the colors that didn't match with the colors that did match.  I also punched 2 butterflies from pink glitter paper.  I used my cuttlebug to punch out the letters for her name and then I stamped pink flowers on the word "Gracie" and green polka dots on the word "room", then I used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch.  I hope she likes it.

One card and a cute boy in a suit

This is a card I made for a challenge in the stampers anonymous group in cafemom.  I have never used purple with maroon before but I guess it worked for the card.  Unfortunately, I totally used the wrong adhesive for the sheer ribbon and it looks clumpy.

This is a picture of my adorable son trying on his suit for his Uncle Doug's wedding.  The pants are a little long,(but they are being fixed) but he sure is handsome.

Busy Busy, but not too busy for cards.

I have entered in some secret sister swaps, card making kit swaps, and image swaps, so I have not had time to craft lately, here are a few things that I made on Sunday that I am just getting around to posting.  The first one is for the addicted 2 bellas group in cafemom,  for the challenge this week we had to make a free standing pop-up card, and this is the card that I made.  I am not too happy with it,  I am going to make another one using thicker cardstock so it actually stands upright like it is supposed to.  If you look at the picture closely on the right side you can see an ink pen that I slid in the base to stand it up for the picture.  Well it was my first try, now that I have the hang of all the folds I want to make a better card.    The next card that I made was for cousin Christian's birthday.  It is hard for me to make older boy cards and I new he liked money and candy, so I made this diaper fold card with some double sided paper that I was rak'd, plus I heard him playing basketball outside and wanted to whip up something fast so I could actually give it to him instead of just leaving it by the door and risking the chocolate melting.  Oh there was a candy bar but it isn't in the card in the picture.

Back to work

So, my week off flew by.  I took Jack to do so many things.  Last Wednesday Jack and I drove to Cottontown, TN and spent all day with my friend Jenny from high school and her son Jaxson.  The boys played nonstop, it was good to see them both.

Cathy, Anna and I ate lunch at Applebees then we took Cathy to work on Thursday and then we were on a mission to find Jack something cute and ringbearer-like to wear to the wedding since the tux place doesn't make them in his size.  I had all about given up and just as we were headed to get a pretzel before we left the mall we found the cutest little brown pinstripe suit.  The pants are too long and will need to be hemmed, but I am super excited we found something to buy that is half the price it would have been to rent the tux/suit ( had they been able to make it in his size).  Yay!  The shoes are another story, my son has the widest feet ever.

Yesterday we celebrated my nephew Nathaniel's birthday.  I can't believe he is 8.  Of course I don't have any pictures cause my memory card was full and hadn't had time to put the pics on the computer and format the memory card.  Jack just loves his cousins, they all played outside and ran around, then Doug made yummy cheese burgers ( Jack just wanted to eat chips, big SHOCKER there), then Nathaniel opened presents, he got a lot of outdoor toys and games.  I didn't realize the toy I got him was so crazy dangerous until I saw people actually trying to use it.  It is like a pogo stick on a ball only its not a pogo stick its more like a handle attached to a really thick rubberband attached to foot pedals attached to a ball.  I swear I am not trying to kill my nephew ,I thought it would be fun, and of course the only person that could actually bounce on the crazy thing is Doug.  Anna made this really yummy cake it was chocolate fudge cake with swirl red, orange and yellow frosting,  Just when I thought Jack was going to inhale the whole cake, he didn't want anymore, I guess he can actually stop eating chocolate. who new.  Another cool toy Nathaniel got was this bubble rocket, you step on a pedal which shoots air through a tube and launches the rocket that is dipped in bubble solution so when it takes off the air blows bubbles through the rocket.  Of course Jack tried and tried but he really only stepped on it and launched it once, everybody clapped.

I forgot to add that it was so warm yesterday that I had to change out of the clothes I was wearing and put on capris and a shirt made of thinner material.  Today there were snow flurries at work (crazy weather).  Well today was my first day back at work after being off for a week and it is spring break for all the school kids, so of course the office will be crazy busy this week with lots of kids.  I just hope I have time and energy to make at least one card or project.

Well I had the chance to make some cards yeserday and do laundry.  Some cards I made for sketch challenges over on cafemom and some were just for fun.  The first card is for the Addicted 2 Bellas (group on cafemom) sketch challenge. The challenge was to use the sketch to the right of my card with pink on it and you have to use a bella image. For the circle I used pink, white core paper ran it through my swiss dots cuttlebug folder then took sandpaper to the raised areas to make the white stand out. The next card was for the cute critters club (group on cafemom) and you have to use the sketch to the right of my card and you had to use a critter. I flipped my card to be horizontal instead of vertical so everything would fit.  The next card with a mouse on it, was a rak'd HM image I think I got like 2 years ago and colored it with regular colored pencils before I knew what copics or watercolor pencils were.  The colors don't pop as much, but I feel like I took the time to color it so it should be used.  The next card with the monkey on the beech was for a color challenge over in the cute critter club.  The colors were on a bright summer skirt, and they were orange, yellow, blue, green, pink and like a coral (red-orange).  I didn't have the exact color of pink and the paper I had didn't have any blue on it, so I punched out butterflies from my blue glitter paper.  There is a picture of the inside of the card too.  My last 2 cards were just simple and easy to throw together they are both rak'd stamping bella images.  The one with car on it was colored with glaze pens.  I made it for a friend of my friend Cass, it is a lady who is turning 50, so I think I am going to type up something on the computer and put it on the card.  I was thinking of putting "it is nifty to be 50"
