Our Christmas tree had a little accident this year. When the bottom section of the tree has all the lights out sometimes you have to trim the fat. It may be a little shorter but I was able to get all of Jack's homemade ornaments on the tree . YAY. I call that a win and we didn't have to buy a new tree.

Thanksgiving School Day
So here goes our Thanksgiving homeschool day. We read books , did some pretty fun crafts , Jack helped me bake while learning math and measurement , He did a multiplication color turkey , we discussed Squanto and starvation and the Mayflower. When you don't have brown beads for the story of Thanksgiving bracelets,to make brown beads with glue and brown fun flock. We even watched a cool Thanksgiving documentery. We had an awesome day.
Then the Thanksgiving meal at my in laws happened. I had so many gluten free options. The meal was amazing. Then an incident happened. I will say this, it is one thing to discipline someone else's child but it's quite another to pound your fist on the table angrily yelling at them to shut up. We don't speak to each other like that and I would never speak to an 8 yr old child like that. I had to hold my child sobbing in my arms for an hour. That is unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated in my house or towards my child. We had a perfect day until that happened. We had to rearrange our Christmas plans so we wouldn't have to be near that person either. It's a shame too. When she had her back surgery I visited her twice and brought her flowers and sat in her room talking to her for several hours. I thought we were friends. That being said. I am thankful today for the good people in my life that are kind. The world needs to be more kind. I am thankful for the people that want us in their lives and my awesome friends and family.
Last weekend
We celebrated my nephews birthday. He loves Pokemon. It is hard to find gluten free biscuits so I made them from scratch. They were yummy. Then Jack got to eat his free pizza from the Pizza Hut book it program. Yay for free stuff.

Co-op and cousin time
In co-op this week they made kava lamps in science class and learned why oil and water don't mix. In time and measurement class they made paper airplanes and flew them then measured the distance in centimeters, inches and feet to see which would be the best method of measuring. In art class they made Thanksgiving hats. They built a tool box on building class. Learned about China in ancient civilizations class and then he gave a speech about Abraham Lincoln in speech. He was so proud of his speech , he used the online catalog at the library and researched the president. He wrote a rough draft and typed a final copy. He took in a picture of the Lincoln monument and a penny to the class too.
Then we went to a senior citizen facility and picked out some people to be secret Santa's too. I love helping if I can and when I can.
That night I got to be the bingo number caller at bingo night at the Buddy House. I was exhausted but it was a lot of fun.
I took my nephew out to Toys R Us for his birthday. He was so excited to get a hat ,balloon and a 5.00 gift card to pick out a toy. He picked out a set of Pokémon cards. Then we went to the Half Price bookstore for story time and a free book then playing with Legos at the library. The boys had a blast. Jack has had a fun weekend and this Momma needs some rest.
