Over on cafemom we had to make a card with a sketch that we found that couldn't be from cafemom, so I went blog surfing and found this sketch at Taylored Expressions, her blog address is on the sketch. I was rak'd with this very cute love beetle huggabug image from stamping bella, I used BICs, prismacolors, copics and stickles to color the image. I also used some cute prima flowers given to me by a secret sister swap over in the Card makin Mamas group. The next 2 cards are pretty simple they are both using rak'd images and papers from my Nana's Nursery Baby Boy paper stack by DCWV. I left the one with the birds really simple because I absolutely love that bird background paper. The last card is for my nephew's 8th birthday . It is hard for me to make older boy cards, but I don't think it turned out too terrible. I used the background paper that was rak'd to me by my cafemom friend Emily. I used this cute Riley Moose surfer image given to me a long time ago, BICs, stickles and rub-ons. I used my cupcake stamp set by inkadinkado. I will hopefully have more time for card making today. Woo Hoo

Centennial Park
So, I took Jack to Nashville today to visit with my Dad and Tanya. We ate lunch at the Olive Garden (I really miss that place), then we went to Centennial Park to let Jack see the ducks. Apparently a duck says wack wack instead of quack quack (I'm not arguing with a 2 year old over that, I can pick my battles). There was an airplane and a train on display too and Jack got really upset when I wouldn't let him climb on the train. We were going to go back to Grandpa's and visit with his dogs some more but Jack fell fast asleep in the backseat, and slept the whole way home.

Ezra's first birthday party
Here are the pictures I took of Ezra's party, it was a construction theme, so adorable. The kids had a blast.
Anna's bridal brunch
Anna had her bridal brunch/shower yesterday at (Ithink it was her Aunt's house, I wasn't in the room for the introductions), it was really pretty, the colors were green and brown (Anna's wedding colors). I made this card for the shower using a RAK'd (random act of kindness) image of dainty bella, I colored her using my skin white copic, BIC markers, and green tea prismacolor marker. I used my oval and scalloped oval dies from nestabilities, and I used the Marth Stewart doily lace punch. The paper was in a wedding pack by DCWV. I left it kind of simple to let the richness of the colors take over the card instead of having a bunch of embellishments.
Anna was waiting for Doug, to open presents but he was busy with a very clingy Jack, there is a picture of Doug holding a very grumpy looking Jack ( he needed a nap). Here are some pics of the gifts they got that I love, the big beautiful wall clock, and the really pretty shower curtain that is brown with blue and green accents and the fluffy green towels.

Birthday Party
We celebrated my mother in laws birthday tonightand this is the card I made for her. I ran white paper through one of my cuttlebug embossing folders (can't remember the name of this folder), then I colored the raised areas with chalk. I added a simple rub on sentiment and sheer ribbon.
Anna made this very yummy red velvet with I think cream cheese frosting. It was very delicious and moist, Jack couldn't get enough of it. He was so sticky from eating cake and icecream that I had to hose him down, let the water drain, then give him a bath.

So, My Mom had Jack all this past weekend so I could clean and throw the bridal shower for Anna. I was busy with shower stuff Friday and Saturday, but Sunday I got a chance to make some cards. I wanted to make some simple and quick cards. I'm having a problem with mailing cards with a lot of embellishments, I don't want to have to go to the post office every time, I want to be able to just stick a stamp on it and mail it. So I decided to make a bunch of simple cards , just to have them on hand, and then when I use the card I will know who it is going to, if it is someone that I can just hand it to I will add bulky embellishments, if the card is getting mailed I can leave it as is or add some flat ribbon or eyelets. My good friend from cafemom Dee has been helping me with my blog, she is great any question I have she has been answering me, so I followed your instructions Dee and I hope this slideshow works.

a couple of cards tor the shower
Here is a picture of the pretty cake and upcakes that Melissa brought from Sam's club. On cafemom there are a few card groups that I am a member of and like to participate in their sketch challenges, this was the sketch this week in the card makin mamas
group, and I just used it to make Anna's bridal shower card. You can't tell in the picture (stupid camera), but the white paper is sponged with pink and green ink with a makeup sponge, also the green paper wasn't taped down yet for the picture so it shifted a little, but just look at the sketch and you can tell how it was supposed to look. Well. it is not one of my best cards, but with everything I had to do for the shower I didn't have much time for card making, so this literally took me 10 minutes to whip up ( the image was colored ahead of time ). Thank goodness for sketches. The next card is a simple thank you card. I had 20 to make so I kept it simple. The green paper is embossed with the swiss dots folder through my cuttlebug, and the scallop was cut with my scalloped oval nestabilities set. The last picture is of me at the end of the night after I got everything cleaned up and was about to veg out in front of the tv (don't I look tired). I miss Jack I am glad he is coming back from Nanna's tomorrow.
Bridal Shower
Anna's bridal shower was fun. I think the kids had fun too. Here are just a few pics. Anna opening presents, Gracie playing, Heather cleanin Ezra's face (yummy cupcake icing), Hannah and Gracie eating together, and a picture of the food table. I finally got everything put back where it was and cleaned up, now I can take my antibiotic and relax. I made a couple cards, I will make a new post for them.

Bridal Shower Prep
The first picture is of the party favors, on the left is a container that I covered and put a candle in it. On the right is a sour cream container filled with m&ms. The second pic is just all of the party favors in a tub. The third pic is the clothes pin game ( nobody can say the bride's or groom's names, or they get it taken away) the person with the most at the end of the shower wins. Picture #4 is where everyone is to place their recipe cards ( in the invitation I put this cute poem that I found online about bringing a recipe so the bride-to-be can start to learn how to cook). The last picture, I found these cute pinwheels but had trouble finding something tall and thin enough to put them in, so I put them in spray bottles (without the sprayers), and supported the pinwheel with pink stirofoam balls. I have a few as decorations, but this is a little game where they have to guess how many balls are in the spray bottle. Let me tell you it is a lot more than you would think. I'll have more pictures tomorrow, that is the shower. The menu is pigs in a blanket, pinwheels (little pita-like sandwich swirls), quice, french onion dip with chips, punch, soda, coffe, cupcakes and cake. I am so excited I have never thrown a girly party before. I have a son son and he is all boy.

My Dad's visit
This is Jack's reaction when you tell him you are going to take his picture, wow he is just like his Daddy. haha
